Cherry Pie Games
Cherry Pie Games is a small company in Orlando I co-founded with several friends. The goal of CPG was to make really fun games and experiment with the newest technologies including VR and motion tracking. As a member of a small team I often spent time wearing multiple hats to push the quality of each project to its highest. cherrypiegames.com
Cherry Pie Games was started somewhat by chance during the "Big Scary Game Jam" hosted by the UCF Game Dev Knights, our game developer club on campus. We developed the initial version of Hollow over 48 hours.
Due to our chemistry and passion for making games, we decided to finish out Hollow and make a company. Thanks to Hollow's winning Microsoft //GameOn 2015 and being a Leap Motion 3D Jam Finalist, we were able to attend GDC 2015.
During the few weeks leading up to GDC we had been working on the prototype for Emmerholt, which showed enough potential to receive an Unreal Dev Grant for $15,000 later that year.
Tacopocalypse
We also created Tacopocalypse, our first fully published game. Tacopocalypse was designed to be Tony Hawk meets Crazy Taxi, with a focus on hitting the nostalgia of 1999 gaming.
Tacopocalypse had a successful Kickstarter, was Greenlit on Steam and went through Early Access on Steam and finally full released in 2017.
Pictured on the right is an Orlando game dev meetup we hosted several times. Not only did we feel a strong sense of pride for Orlando indie dev, but it was also a great way for us to relax and do some playtesting over pizza and beer.
