I received my Masters of Interactive Entertainment as a member of the 13th Cohort at FIEA (2016-2017). FIEA is consistently ranked as one of the top game design programs in the nation and the project management track is what attracted me the most. I worked on several individual and team projects during my time at FIEA and want to highlight a few of these aspects.  fiea.ucf.edu

Project Management Track

(1st-3rd Semester)

The project management track at FIEA is focused on developing our PM skills at an industry level. On this track, I worked extensively with Excel, learned project management software such as JIRA and Hansoft, presented various projects, and learned how to better evaluate projects with a critical view. Having a solid background in PM work, I also took on the job of learning the Development Manager (DM) role. For this aspect I focused on expanding my abilities to collect and analyze data to move from a more "gut" driven decision making to a data driven one.

Two-Step Cleanup

(2nd Semester)

Two-Step Cleanup was a project developed during our Game Lab class dedicated to games with purposes besides pure entertainment. The project was a request by the Veterans Health Administration for an app that would help their cleaning staff across the nation improve their sanitation and step-by-step cleaning. I was immediately attracted to this project because I love the challenge of making a game for an audience that is very different from myself. The project was such a success that the VHA has used this prototype to secure more funding for a full app.

Rapid Prototype Production

(1st Semester)

During the 1st Semester at FIEA, we all took part in the RPP class, which had us making 6 different two week prototypes with different teams each time. During these projects I worked on all different aspects of production with 5-6 man teams. Pictured to the right is W.I.P. (Willingness Improvement Program) where the player is guided by a narrator to do simple tasks and reveal a darker secret when they break script.
